Ring of Omara

So when exactly did Angel destroy the ring of Omara? We see him all invincible in season one and I spent the next few season curious as to why he didn't whip it out until out of the blue Cordelia mentions he crushed it. Did I miss something?

    In Season One, Episode 3 titled "In The Dark" is where the ring is given to Angel by Oz. After hijinks by Spike and Marcus, Angel ultimately gets the ring back From Marcus. After catching a sunset in L. A., Angel smashes the ring with Doyle looking on.
